Food for the Soul..
We are starting to wake up to the fact that in our human behavior, we rarely seem to be satisfied with our lives. We work and focus our energy into getting something that we want because we are not satisfied with our lot and when we acquire whatever it is that we think will satisfy us, we find that it hasn’t answered the call and there must be something else that we need in order to fill the empty spot within us waiting to be satisfied, and so the search continues.
That is so natural. We are programmed seekers. We are forever pulled on the journey to seek ‘that’, which is waiting to be found. We are in the ultimate game of ‘hide and seek’.
This search continues for most of us, all throughout our lives and few people have been able to find ‘that’ which we are all conditioned to seek. Moving from thing to thing, place to place, job to job, friend to friend, lover to lover. I know that all too well myself. I too have participated in the maddening search for ‘that happiness’, as we are programmed to do.
We love to shop or keep busy because for a little while it relieves us of the inbuilt compelling call to go seek. We are conditioned to seek without a clue as to what it is that we are actually looking for. This constant game of hide and seek doesn’t seem to have any clues at all. We just know that we have to keep on looking.
I am giggling…
What an incredibly, intelligently devised game of hide and seek this is! There is a sense of humour to be found. Here we all are, searching desperately all over the globe to find satisfaction… looking, buying, wanting, exploiting, grabbing anything that we think might satisfy the call to our inner yearning…. we will even travel to the other side of the planet if we think it is over there.
Why I am giggling?..
It is simply because the pot of gold that we are all desperate to find has been cleverly concealed inside every one of us. It has been with us throughout every moment of our lives. It travels with us wherever we go. It has been buried within us all along.
You have to agree that that is rather hilarious!
When you discover the treasure hidden ‘within’, your life will change and you will feel that you have ‘come home’. You will have found what you have been searching for all of your life and you will know who you are and discover your purpose in life. That is the treasure waiting to be found. Oh how wonderful is that!
I want to help you discover the great treasure hidden within yourself and if you are able to find it, it will be the most wonderful journey of your human existence.
I cannot take you there as this is a journey that we all must take on our own but I can offer some clues to help you along the way.
A simple clue is to begin to live in appreciation. This is important.
It doesn’t matter what circumstance that you find yourself in. There is always something to be grateful for.
Be it the sun itself, a roof over your head, a good friend, or simply air to breathe. The more you live with gratitude for what you have, the more that this will lead you into a state of grace. Living in a state of grace is an also an important clue.
If you would like to take the great journey within and discover the magnificence waiting for you there, then begin by practicing gratitude.
This is a good way to start on your journey.
Everyday try to see how many things that you have in your life that you can be grateful for. There will be many and the more that you practice this, the more that you will find to be grateful for.
With daily practice, living with gratitude will become a way of life and this is one of the necessary requirements to moving closer to the treasure that lies within you. How many things can you find in your life to be grateful for?
Enjoy the practice.
With loving Kindness
